A forecast was never offered during the period as the forecasters lazed on the beach.
Quakes never sleep though and steady quakes and patchy spaceweather dominated the period with difficult forecasting conditions.
Many of the quakes were aftershocks in NE Honshu, Offshore Mindanao and Kamchatka.
A new forecast will be posted on 20 January with a significant geomagnetic storm expected.
