Quake activity may increase. Mag 6+ risk areas are Tonga, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Kermadec Islands. Mag 5+ risk areas are East Cape, Arthurs Pass, Fiordland, South of Fiordland. Mag 4+ risk areas are North Wairarapa. Global volcanic activity may increase near the end of the forecast period. Hunga Ha'apai. NZ volcanoes quiet. Forecast Update. 3 Feb. 10.30 NZST. Southern Wairarapa, Christchurch are now added to Mag 4+ risk areas. The forecast period may be extended, an update will be posted on 5 Feb.
