Quake activity may increase. Mag 4+ risk areas are East Cape, South of Kermadec Islands, Kermadec Islands. Forecast map on Facebook link. Update. 1340NZST 8 March. The forecast period is working well so far. Plenty of action in the forecasted areas. There seems to have been another volcanic eruption up Tonga way or Northern Kermadecs. Watch out for quake volcano action in Central/ Northern Chile, Andes and Sumatra. Summary. 8 March. North of East Cape 4.1, North of White Island 4.2, Taranaki 4.2, New Britain 6.0. 11 March. East of East Cape 4.2, Colombia 6.2, NW of Auckland Island 4.9. 12 March. Kermadecs 4.9. This forecast worked well. Steady driving conditions resulted in ongoing White Island/East Cape action on 8 March and some late action early on 11 March, including to the south of New Zealand. Global locations were not a success. The Colombia 6.2 was in the mountains as hoped and not in the sea but too far north to be a location success. Volcanoes are still ticking over. There has been no confirmation of the possible volcanic eruption in the Northern Kermdecs or Tonga. Hunga Ha'apai is quiet. Forecast map on Facebook link and more postings on Facebook/Roary Arbon.
