Quake activity may increase. Mag 4+ risk areas are East Cape, Bay of Plenty, Arthurs Pass, Fiordland. Activity may move form north to south during the period. Lunar modulation from 17 April may centre this activity near low tide. Global volcanic activity may increase after 17 April. NZ volcanoes quiet. Forecast map on Facebook link. Summary. This forecast worked well. The period was extended on 18 April to 18-19 April after the Fiji 6.5. Fiji, Kermadecs as far as East Cape went off on 18 April. No action at Arthurs Pass and the forecasted western action on 18-19 April only got to Mag 3.5 at New Plymouth. South American volcanoes Ubinas, Colima and Fuego all erupted during the period. Guagua Pichincha which overlooks the Ecuadorian capital Quito is showing signs of increased seismiciity.
