Magnitude 5+ risk area is West of Masterton/Atiwhakatu Stream.
Magnitude 4+ risk areas are East Cape, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Tokoroa, Wairoa, Cook Strait, South Awatere Valley, South of Taramakau River, Arawhata Valley, Hollyford Valley, Northwest Arm Te Anau, Fiordland, South of Fiordland.
Quakes may be infrequent.
Volcanoes quiet.
Forecast confidence = low.

The forecast period is extended to 19 April.
Quakes and quake driving conditions fell back today in New Zealand and the Pacific.
The 14-18 April quake period has been strong so a late quake is still possible next day.
A weak quake period is possible 21 April.

Update. 19 April 2300NZST.
Local quakes were quiet today.
The dramatic Pacific action last few days hasn't shown up in New Zealand.
A new short quake period is due 21 April.

Summary.
Many big Pacific quakes last few days justified this forecast but quakes never came to Aotearoa.
