Magnitude 5+ risk areas are Culverden, Southwest of Kaikoura, Kaikoura, East of Kaikoura, Seaward Kaikouras, Tapuaenuku, Waita River, Ward, Cape Campbell. Magnitude 4+ risk areas are Fiordland, Upper Crooked River, Northwest of Cape Campbell, Northern Cook Strait, West of Levin, Poarangahau, Waipukurau, Northeast of Waipukurau, North of Wairoa, Rotorua, Eastern Bay of Plenty, East Cape, Northeast of East Cape. Quakes may be infrequent, moderate and later on in the day. A possibility for isolated Mag 5 exists. A major Pacific quake period is likely for several days, beginning 8 December. New Zealand is a high risk Pacific location. Summary. Seaward Kaikouras 4.3 4.19am Quakes eased more today. Conditions are likely to remain this way until 8 December.
