Magnitude 6 risk areas are Upper Crooked River, South of Cape Kidnappers, Culverden, Kaikoura, Offshore Kaikoura , Seaward Kaikouras, Waima River, Lower Clarence, Ward, Cape Campbell.
Magnitude 5 risk areas Western Fiordland, Mid Awatere/Upcot Saddle, Southwest of Wellington, Northern Cook Strait, Levin, Turakirae Head, Porangahau, Eketahuna, Dannevirke, Waipukurau, Wairoa, Gisborne, East Cape, Urewera, Murupara, Tokoroa.
Magnitude 4 risk areas are Franz Josef, Amberley, Eastern Bay of Plenty, Rotorua.
Volcanoes quiet.
Local quakes have been moderate last few days as quake conditions steadily build up.
Quake driving conditions are now very strong.
The 22-26 December quake period could bring some big Pacific action.
