Magnitude 6 risk areas are Upper Crooked River, Culverden, Kaikoura, Offshore Kaikoura, Seaward Kaikouras, Waima River, Ward, Cape Campbell, West of Masterton, Eketahuna, Dannevirke, Waipukurau, Cape Kidnappers.
Magnitude 5 risk areas are Fiordland, Mid Awatere/Upcot Saddle, Southwest of Wellington, Levin, West of Levin, Orongorongo River, Wairoa, Urewera, Gisborne, Tokoroa, Rotorua, Eastern Bay of Plenty, East Cape, Northeast of East Cape.
Magnitude 4 risk areas are Franz Josef, St Arnaud.
Solar quake driving conditions are consistently higher than forecast expectations so an isolated big local quake is possible.
The period is likely to be extended.
Volcanoes quiet.

East of Kaikoura 4.3 12.38am
West of Kaikoura 4.1 1.43am
Solid action on the Hope Fault last night, two Kaikoura quakes and a quake swarm at Upper Crooked River.
Be careful.
Solar quake driving conditions are slowly weakening today but likely to be strong enough to drive quakes for at least another day.
