Magnitude 6 risk areas are Northeast of Cape Campbell, Eketahuna, Dannevirke, Porangahau, Waipukurau, Cape Kidnappers, Northeast of Wairoa.
Magnitude 5 risk areas are Haupiri River, Culverden, Kaikoura, Seaward Kaikouras, Lower Clarence, Tapuaenuku, Ward, Cape Campbell, Urewera, Murupara, Taumarunui, Tokoroa, Rotorua, Tauranga, Opotiki.
Magnitude 4 risk areas are Fiordland, East of St Arnaud, D'Urville Island, East Cape.
Local quakes faded after last nights North Island swarm but solar quake driving conditions have returned tonight.
Volcanoes quiet.
The forecast period is likely to be extended for several days.

A strong pickup in solar quake driving conditions late on 3 January shook Fiji and further south mid morning.
