The forecast outlook for very high steady solar conditions was a mistake. Solar conditions went calm after the shock along with quakes. Difficult forecasting conditions timing the shock arrivals off the flaring sunspot AR12673. The 6 September X9, X1 and string of M Class X-ray flares from AR12673 was substantial.
