Pacific quakes were very quiet but New Zealand quakes were steady, indicating the possibility for bigger local action soon.
The Northeast of East Cape 5.6 wasn't covered by media but ominous, coming soon after two Mag 5 North Island quakes.
Fiordland was also very active.
