Forecast for 4 September 2014

Bardarbunga Forecast Update. Icelandic seismologists are reporting a continuous lava flow at a steady rate since eruptions on 29 August and 31 August. Quakes but not lava have since decreased. The eruptions so far have fitted the forecasted outlook and the steady high level activity may persist until a larger eruption or series of eruptions from 8 September. The second wave of global vulcanism seems to be now happening after the first in June (Etna, Piton de la Fournaise, Sangeang Api) all in line with the expectations then of bigger quakes, spaced apart and increasing volcanic eruptions.
