Northeast of East Cape 5.3 8.24am; 5.3, 4.3, 4.1, 4.5, 4.3, 4.5, 5.2

A significant quake sequence has arrived in New Zealand.
No forecast was offered for the period.
The Kapiti 4.7, 5.4 double quake was widely felt across the North and Upper South Island.
The quakes were felt close to the 9-17 January North of D'Urville Island risk location and the 17 January North of Kapiti 4.2
Forecast timing tends to be stretched out during low solar activity periods and observers should look to the previous forecast period for some correlation.
Importantly there has been a significant sequence Northeast of East Cape that has come with the Kapiti quakes.
