Summary.
29 February.
Tonga/Neiafu 5.3 2.57pm
Molucca Sea 5.3 10.28pm
Eruption Kliuchevskoi, Bagana, Suwanosejima
2 March.
Eruption Etna, Merapi, Karangetang, Yasur
4 March.
Eruption Semeru
The Pacific became heavily volcanic as steady slow spaceweather drove many eruptions.
Typically when volcanos are hot, quakes are subdued.
Why and how the switch from quakes to volcanos happens has been tested unsuccessfully many times by the forecasters and all theories have ended up in the bin.
Additionally, Iceland volcano Thorbjorn on the Southwestern Rejkanes Peninsula started swarming on 4 March but an eruption seems a way off.
New Zealand volcanos White Island and Ruapehu are also heating up.
Spaceweather forecast for 4 March arrived on cue but the magnetic connection was weak and the Earth's magnetic field repelled the solar wind in the same way two magnets will attract each other but turn one magnet around and they repel each other.
Fluctuating, tricky spaceweather is set to roll on for a few days and this may keep volcanos hot.
