A major Pacific quake spell has unfolded, including New Zealand.
The Offshore Milford Sound 5.9 arrived as part of a cluster, including Honshu 5.9, California 5.8 in a 5 hour period.
New Zealanders have experienced widespread quakes since the 19 June South of Kermadecs 7.4.
Local seismologists have given no insight when questioned...its all unconnected to them.
The period has come from some very patchy spaceweather, highlighting the forecast timing issues with ill defined Solar Minimum solar wind conditions.
Stronger spaceweather is due 26 June and the period may continue in New Zealand.
Eruptions typically follow quakes so Pacific volcanos which are already hot may fire up more.
Local volcanos are quiet.
