The forecast was posted on Facebook at 2.22pm just as spaceweather arrived.
The Mag 5.3 quake arrived soon after and was widely felt across the Lower North Island and Upper South Island.
Quake energy is directional.
Excellent risk location success also at Porangahau.
Mag 5 risk was justified.
The period was brief.
A moderate Kp6 solar storm passed quickly.
Quakes went quiet for several days.
New spaceweather from a coronal hole windstream is due very early 21 October and may bring a local quake uptick.

Volcanos quiet.
A mild solar shock from sunspot AR2882 is due late 12 October.
