Solar wind from Coronal Hole 1119 arrived almost a day earlier than forecast, driving brief Kp5 geomagnetic conditions.
The global volcanic period has continued with a new eruption and upticks in ongoing eruptions.
A major increase in lava flowing from Mauna Loa with fountains to 200 meters and strongly oscillating conditions was noted by USGS volcanologists at the onset of geomagnetic storming.
Lava has steadily slowed down until today with no more fountaining and a dramatic slowdown, coinciding again with weakening spaceweather.
Advancing lava has stalled about 2km from the highway crossing Hawaii.
Eruptions at Stromboli and Etna are ongoing.
Volcanologists at Stromboli say the eruption is the biggest for years with lava flowing to the sea and making a new delta.
The initial pyroclastic eruption threw out enough ash and lava to make a tiny tsunami.
Atacama volcano Lascar has gone off with a bang but fortunately is remote.
No news from Fernandina.
Spaceweather is easing today and volcanos are cooling slightly in response.
No new coronal hole windstreams are leaving the Sun and sunspots are frequent but not very active.
Java has been a quake and volcano hotspot during November/December.
More West Java action seems possible next couple of days as Coronal Hole 1119 fades away.
